How to Watercolor an Easy Christmas Tree
There’s something special about a handmade Christmas card. If you’re looking for a fun, EASY and quick (under 15 minutes if you have a heat tool) this is the project for you. If you can use tape to make a triangle, you can paint this card!

Supplies
Watercolor in a couple shades of green
Watercolor in yellow or yellow green
Watercolor in brown
Blue painter’s tape
Watercolor paper
Gold Paint Marker
Gouache in your choice of colors for the ornaments. (You could also use paint markers instead)

Step 1
Use the tape to create a triangle on your paper. Be sure to leave some space on the top for a star and on the bottom for the trunk.
Step 2
Paint the triangle with water, then drop in your paint using greens and yellow. This adds a nice variety of colors to your piece. Try not to rub the paint back and forth with your brush because this will mix your colors into one shade.
Dry your piece with a blow-dryer or heat tool to speed up the process or you can allow to dry on its own.
Step 3
Carefully peel off the tape.
Step 4
Use brown to paint in a trunk.
Step 5
Using the gold paint marker, draw some lines for the tinsel and add a star to the top of the tree.
Step 6
Use gouache in your choice of colors to paint circles as the ornaments.
