How to Watercolor 3 Easy Valentine’s

Today I’ve got 3 easy Valentine’s Cards you can do in under 30 minutes total. Grab those paints and let’s make something fun!

Card 1 Supplies- I’m calling this one The Bleeding Heart

I am adding the brands I used incase you’re curious, but feel free to use what you have on hand.

  • Watercolor paper (Canson XL- I cut them to size)

  • Watercolor paints in reds and pinks (Mijello Mission Gold)

Steps:

1. Paint a heart with water in the middle of your paper.

2. Drop in your different shades of reds and pinks. Try not to rub your brush back and forth as this will blend all your colors into 1 shade instead of letting the water blend the colors for you.

3. Paint a smaller heart on both sides of the larger one using water.

4. Drop more paint into those smaller hearts. Dry your painting. You’re all done!

Card 2 Supplies- I’m calling this one Stripey Heart

I am adding the brands I used incase you’re curious, but feel free to use what you have on hand.

  • Watercolor paper (Canson XL- I cut them to size)

  • Watercolor paints in reds purple and pinks (Mijello Mission Gold)

  • 1/4 inch painter’s tape (found on Amazon)

Steps:

1. Draw a heart in the middle of your paper. Add tape across the heart to make stripes.

2. Paint each section a different shade of red or pink.

3. Dry your painting and remove the tape. Erase your pencil lines. You’re all done!

Card 3 Supplies- I’m calling this one Doodle Heart

I am adding the brands I used incase you’re curious, but feel free to use what you have on hand.

  • Watercolor paper (Canson XL- I cut them to size)

  • Watercolor paints in reds purple and pinks (Mijello Mission Gold)

  • Painter’s Tape

  • Salt

  • Black sharpie or waterproof pen

Steps:

1. Tape your paper down to the table or a board. Fill the entire area with water, then drop in your different shades of reds and pinks. Try not to rub your brush back and forth as this will blend all your colors into 1 shade instead of letting the water blend the colors for you.

2. Sprinkle salt while the paint is wet. Dry your painting, then brush off the salt.

3. Add heart doodles using your sharpie or pen. You’re all done!

That’s a wrap! I hope you enjoyed this project and it brought some joy to your day.
